It's getting close to crunch time!

This past week was incredibly busy! Almost everything is FINALLY done for the wedding. We are scheduling our final meetings with all of our vendors and working out the timing of the wedding day. Ian and I had our pre-cana retreat today and took away some really good tips on communication and how to grow in marriage. I'll admit that I was going into the day dreading having to sit through a talk about Natural Family Planning, but the day overall was really worthwhile. (We did have to listen to a couple talk about NFP for a good 45 minutes, but that's okay.)

I'm getting ready to start seating charts and place cards tonight. Thank you to everyone who has already RSVP'd! I appreciate being able to plan ahead. It looks like the Salmon Casino is the crowd favorite (that's my choice too).

Love you all and see you REALLY soon!

Directions

Directions have been updated! Please view the link to the left of the page to get directions. The Indy 500 Festival Parade will be going on downtown right before the wedding. The directions will divert you around the street closings and parade; however, there will be increased traffic downtown. We suggest parking at The Mavris (reception site) and carpooling to the church. See you soon!

    A Bridesmaid Visit

I am so excited for Elise to come to Indianapolis tonight! We have many plans, one of which includes addressing all of our invitations! I promised Elise that I would leave some embossing for her to do, so hopefully she'll enjoy finishing the wedding favors with me. Thank you Elise for all of your help and for coming to visit!

    The Engagement

Ian proposed Christmas Eve, 2008 in Columbus at Kaitlin's Mom's house. There was a running joke with Ian's Dad, Ken, because Kaitlin told him that she wanted "something sparkly" from Ian for Christmas (completely joking around).

Needless to say, Ian wrapped up a bottle of Champagne and gave it to her for Christmas. Ian also had tons of packages individually wrapped, and as Kaitlin started opening them, they were Bridal magazines! Ian got down on his knee and gave Kaitlin a beautiful round empire diamond ring. The Champagne came in handy that evening and we haven't stopped celebrating since!

    Welcome to Our Wedding Site!

    Hello Friends and Family!

Thank you for logging onto our wedding blog. We are so excited to see you in a few short weeks. I'm in craft heaven making menus, table cards and programs, and Ian's keeping an updated countdown to the wedding (in between the NCAA Tournament and studying for his boards!).

Last week we had our cake tasting at Heavenly Sweets. That place is so cool! The owner, Tanya, has built quite the business up in Noblesville. This May, for Mother's Day, she's opening a restaurant next to her bakery that will be the home of high tea, private parties, and holiday family-style dinners. Based on the taste of her cake alone, I'm sure this new venture of hers is going to fantastic.

I'm signing off for now. In the meantime, enjoy our engagement photos.

    XOXO,
    Kaitlin
